Maasinhons split on the trilogy verdict

(By Jani Arnaiz, November 14, 2011) Boxing fans crowd bus terminal for live coverage of Pacman-Marquez trilogy MAASIN CITY – The trilogy between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez ended up in a majority win in favor of the Bangsang Kamao and that verdict didn’t sit well with the Mexican and for many Pinoys including Maasinhons. At the packed Maasin bus terminal, where a giant overhead screen was put by the city gov’t. for free live coverage, boxing fans were unusually silent for this particularly Pacman fight. There were no cheers. Only murmurs of “that’s it, Pacquiao lost this one.” Several others were seen leaving before the fight ended. But majority who waited for the final annoucement of the winner whooped it up as the Pacman as still the WBO welterwieght champion. Subdued cheers were only heard when ring announcer Michael Buffer proclaimed after reading the scorecards: “And still...,” not waiting for the final announcement. Read more...
